Highlands Ladies Golf Association

The Highlands Ladies Golf Association (LGA) invites all lady golf members of The Golf Club at the Highlands to join us. Whether you are a beginner, casual, or serious golfer, there is a place for you.

Our mission is to promote golf and fellowship among the lady golfers at The Highlands. Our season runs from March through October.

WHO CAN JOIN:

The LGA is open to any lady eighteen (18) years of age or older who is a member of The Golf Club at The Highlands.

PLAY DAYS:

We play on Tuesday mornings (shotgun tee times) and on Saturday mornings (tee times.) We typically throw in $5.00 towards the game we are playing, low putts (front and back) and closest to the pins. It is not obligatory to participate in the games, but most ladies really enjoy them. We have a team game at least once a month. The games are typically net and/or gross, change weekly, and are not always skill based.

Annual dues for 2024 are $50. Members may join the Hole in One club for $10. Dues are due April 1, 2024.

Handicaps can be established through the golf club at $40 per person.

We also maintain a Birdie Board to keep track of birdies throughout the year and a Ringer Board to see how low we can get our score throughout the year.

We enjoy several fun events throughout the year.

The LGA will host their Sadie Hawkins event on July 17th this season in which each member asks a member of the Men’s Golf Association (MGA) to partner with her in a two-person team 18 hole tournament. We have a pot luck dinner the night before, breakfast on the pavilion, the tournament, and lunch afterwards.

The Highlands Cup is a Ryder Cup event that will take place on July 24th- 25th. We will have a big team competition and, of course, lunch and awards.

Each member chooses another member as a partner and plays 9-hole matches against other teams in their flight to determine the flight winners. Winners of each flight then vie for the overall champion in a shootout. This year’s event takes place May 1st – 2nd .

We participate in the Club’s Ladies Member-Member Tournament. We also work together with the club to provide a memorable themed Member-Guest event in September. In addition, our ladies are active in all other club events.

Many of the LGA members also participate in other local golf associations: The Richmond Women’s Golf Association (RWGA) and The City Women’s Golf Association (CWGA). It is a wonderful way to meet other lady golfers in the area.

The ladies’ locker room is a great source of information. Current officers, tournament schedules, play day schedules, up-coming events, our Constitution and Bylaws, membership forms, and area events are all posted.

If you are interested in speaking to one of the officers, please just ask the pro shop for our numbers and/or email addresses. One of us will be in touch with you.
